The River Edge Historic Commission is dedicated to safeguarding the heritage of River Edge by preserving resources within the Borough which reflect elements of River Edge's cultural, social, economical and architectural history. 

The Historic Commission seeks to foster civic pride in the history and architecture of the Borough and an appreciation of River Edge's historic sites and to further public knowledge of the persons most responsible for the development of the Borough. 

Upon expiration of term all appointments shall be for 4 years per ordinance #12
