Late Night Voter Registration & June 2nd Primary Election Information

LATE-NIGHT VOTER REGISTRATION

 

Tuesday, May 12, 2026 is the last day for residents to register to vote for the June 2, 2026 Primary Election in the State of New Jersey. In order to be eligible to vote, a person must be an American Citizen, at least 17 years old but cannot vote until reaching the age of 18, except that you may vote in a primary election if you are 17 and will be 18 at the time of the following general election, and be a resident of New Jersey and Bergen County.

 

River Edge residents may register to vote by one of the following ways:

  • At the Office of the Borough Clerk located at the Municipal Building, 2nd Floor, 705 Kinderkamack Avenue, River Edge, NJ 07661. This office will remain open until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20th
  • Online at https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register.

 

JUNE 2nd PRIMARY ELECTION INFORMATION

 

There are 3 ways to vote in the June 2, 2026 Primary Election. They are as follows:

 

OPTION 1: Go to your regular polling location on Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, 2026

 

Polls will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2nd.

 

OPTION 2: Vote by Mail

 

If you have not applied previously and would like to Vote by Mail, applications must be submitted to the Bergen County Clerk’s Office and received by May 26, 2026 if mailed or by 3 pm on June 1, 2026 if you apply in person. You can check your status by contacting the Bergen County Clerk’s Office at 201-336-7020 or electionsclerk@co.bergen.nj.us.

 

The Official Mail-In Ballots for the 2026 Primary Election were mailed out to the voters with Active Vote by Mail Requests the afternoon of April 21st. Only voters with active vote by mail requests will receive their ballot within 3 days of when they were mailed. Voters with active requests who do not receive their ballot within a week should call 201-336-7020 to request a duplicate. Please note that Bergen county has updated its Vote By Mail materials. You may cast your Vote by Mail ballot in one of three ways:

 

  1. Mail it as soon as possible. Your ballot must be postmarked on or before Election Day.
  2. Drop your completed ballot at one of the Secure Ballot Drop Boxes, located throughout Bergen County, by 8 p.m. on June 2nd (Please visit www.bergencountyvotes.com for Drop Box locations.)
  3. Deliver your Vote by Mail ballot in person to the Board of Elections located at 1 Bergen County Plaza – Room 310 by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

OPTION 3: Vote at any in-person Early Voting Location

 

Early Voting Locations will be open Tuesday, May 26th through Sunday, May 31st. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
