Home Security Surveys

A service available to all residents is a free Home Security Survey. An officer will meet you at your home to conduct the survey. The purpose is to locate security weaknesses and offer practical ways to correct them. Learn how to protect your home and valuables from becoming a crime statistic. To arrange for a survey you may eMail  us or telephone us at 201-599-6279.

Senior Citizen Emergency Information

The Police Department provides this service to our senior residents in order to better assist them at the time of an emergency. The purpose is to give the police department immediate access to information in the event of an emergency involving the resident. The information kept on file is the name, address, telephone number, and birthdate of the resident, the name or names of people to contact in the event of an emergency, and the name and address of someone nearby with a housekey. This information is extremely helpful to us, since often the resident is unable to unlock the door or to provide the information we need, due to a medical emergency or the like. The information is stored in our police computer and is accessible to the dispatcher via our computer aided dispatch. To obtain a submission form, eMail us or telephone us at 201-599-6279.

Crime Prevention Vehicle Sticker

The police department utilizes the Vehicle Sticker Program as a crime prevention tool. The Borough seal sticker, with your area's voting district number on it, is affixed to the rear window of your vehicle. The sticker identifies vehicles that belong in your neighborhood, and conversely, vehicles that may not belong. The sticker also serves as a parking permit for allocated spaces within Borough parking lots. You can obtain a sticker at Police Headquarters. Please bring your vehicle registration card with you.

Crime Prevention Block Party

Get a group of your neighbors together at your home for a Crime Prevention Block Party. The police department will provide an officer to speak to your group about topics such as burglary prevention, crime prevention in general, child safety, senior citizen safety, or another topic you may suggest.

To arrange for an officer or for more information, eMail us or telephone us at 201-599-6316.
