GARBAGE PICK-UP

Garbage must be placed in receptacles (plastic or metal garbage cans or garbage bags / paper & plastic)

Cans and bags are to be placed curbside the night before your scheduled pick-up

ONE LARGE PIECE OF FURNITURE IS PERMITTED (PER PICK-UP)

Garbage and Vegetation are picked up by a Private Contractor

FURNITURE PICK-UP

One piece of furniture or mattress is permitted per scheduled garbage pick-up

Item must be at curb

NO METAL FURNITURE PERMITTED 

VEGETATION PICK-UP

First pick-up days for the year  - April 1st and April 2nd 

Last pick-up days for the year October 28th and October 29th 

The collection of grass and vegetation will be as follows...

Mondays for districts 1,2,3 & 4 (from Kensington Road to Oradell border)

Tuesdays for districts 5,6,7 & 8 (from Dorchester Road to Hackensack border) - includes all streets south of Kensington Road 

Grass, leaves and plant cuttings must be placed in open garbage containers and placed curbside

Branches MUST be cut into 4ft. lengths (tied and bundled)

CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS

PLEASE NOTE: All materials from construction, renovations, or demolition, ARE NOT considered garbage, trash or refuse 

and WILL NOT be collected by the private contractor or the Borough of River Edge

These items include:  Cabinets - Formica - Sheetrock - Shingles - Wood - Lumber - Wood Fencing - Flooring - Windows - Concrete - Pavers - Asphalt - Roofing - Siding - Doors - Bath & Kitchen Fixtures

  The disposal and cost of disposing of these materials are the sole responsibility of the contractor or resident

APPLIANCES, METAL AND ELECTRONICS 

These items are not considered garbage and will not be picked up by the contractor

Items may be brought to the DPW yard during regular business hours

or

You may call the Dept. of Public Works (201)599-6275 to schedule a curbside pick-up (Fridays only) for a fee of $25.00 per item
